Fairfield’s editing and publishing minor is open to students in any major, providing in-depth and scholarly explorations in the academic program, in addition to practical skills in editing, page design, and publishing.

Follow your interests

Students in the minor program will take a variety of courses to hone their understanding of editing, page design, and publishing. Minor requirements allow students to follow their interests within the industry, whether they desire an internship or a background in children’s literature.

Complement your main field of study

As a minor within the College of Arts and Sciences, students can choose the program to complement their main field of study. Whether students enter the minor with a major in management or English, all students will benefit from the professional and academic skills gained from the required courses.

Gain publishing and editing experience while at Fairfield

After developing a foundational understanding of publishing and editing, students can choose to work on Fairfield’s literary journal, Dogwood: A Journal of Poetry and Prose. Having this experience will benefit students when they pursue professional opportunities both during and after their time at Fairfield.
