The annual expo of faculty-mentored student research projects returns this year with a record-breaking number of student presentations, and for the first time will be held in the RecPlex.
The Innovative Research Symposium is a day like no other at Fairfield, as students from across academic disciplines present their research during live poster presentation sessions. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the excitement on Thursday, April 20, 2023 starting at 1 p.m. The Symposium marks a celebration of scholarly excellence at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆand is an opportunity for the campus community to come together to learn about the fascinating and timely research conducted by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆstudents as they explore topics that extend beyond the classroom. New this year: the Symposium will be held in the RecPlex during two afternoon sessions, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and will host a record-breaking number of student presenters.
“The 2023 Innovative Research Symposium will be bigger and better than ever,” said associate vice provost for pedagogical innovation and effectiveness Jay Rozgonyi. “We look forward to having more student presentations, from across a far wider range of disciplines than we’ve ever had before. Moving the event to the larger RecPlex location proves what our faculty have always known: that engaging students in disciplinary research and allowing them to share their new ideas only sparks more creativity and engagement among their peers. I personally can’t wait to see what our students have to show us this year, and what it inspires others to do next year.”
