香港六合彩挂牌 professor and author Dr. Emily Orlando will discuss her work and give a talk titled 鈥淲omen, Art and Edith Wharton鈥 at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, at 香港六合彩挂牌 Bookstore, 1499 Post Road, Fairfield. The talk is free and open to the campus community and the public. It is presented by the University鈥檚 Learning for a Lifetime Program and the Department of English.

Dr. Orlando, assistant professor of English, is the author of Edith Wharton and the Visual Arts , a Choice Outstanding Academic Title of 2008. She has also written articles for peer-reviewed journals and books, including American Literary Realism , Women鈥檚 Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal , New Voices on the Harlem Renaissance: Essays on Race, Gender, and Literary Discourse and Edith Wharton in Context . Her teaching and research interests include 19 th - and early 20 th -century literature, Victorian culture, women鈥檚 studies, African American literature and the intersections between visual, literary and popular culture.

She holds a B.A. from Saint Anselm College and earned her Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. She was co-director of Edith Wharton in Florence, the 2012 international conference of the Edith Wharton Society, of which she is vice president.
