FUSA Announces Fall Concert!

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ Student Association (FUSA) is hosting a major event, their annual fall concert, featuring electronic dance music artists Bass Jackers and Bingo Players, next Saturday, October 19 at 8 p.m. in Alumni Hall.

We spent a few moments with Katie Donahue ’15, FUSAs Director of Concerts, to learn more about the extensive planning that began last spring.

Does FUSA usually schedule one or two concerts per year?

There is always one concert per year, but often times there is enough funding for two concerts. This year we hope to have two concerts, one in the fall and one in the spring!

What is the name of the band and is there a warm-up?

Bass Jackers will open for Bingo Players.

‌What is their style of music?

Electronic Dance Music, or EDM.

Are they well-known?

Yes, they are very popular. They are a Dutch band that tours internationally

When did FUSA start thinking about a fall concert?

We started working on the fall concert the week after Kendrick Lamar performed here last May.

How did you select these bands?

FUSA put out a survey that included questions such as: “Of hip-hop/rap, edm, alternative, pop, and rock what is your favorite, in order?” Also, we asked how much students would pay for a ticket. We really stuck to what the student body wanted, which is why tickets are $25 and EDM is the genre of music.

How was the concert announced?

We announced the concert at FUSA Palooza, which was the grand opening of the new FUSA office on the ground floor of the Barone Campus Center.

What's the feedback so far?

The feedback from students has been very positive! Everyone is excited for the concert! Ticket sales are moving right along. We are kicking off a Concert Craze from Tuesday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Oct. 19 with concert trivia prizes, t-shirt raffles and giveaways, and a chance for students to make their own Stunna Shadez!

How do students and fans buy tickets?

Students can buy tickets at the Info Desk for $25 when they show their StagCard. Non-students can buy tickets and pick them up at will call the night of the concert.
