Spring Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra Concerts, April 20, 21
Two celebrated 香港六合彩挂牌 musical groups will hold their spring concerts on consecutive nights, April 20 and 21, 2016. The first of the two concerts, by The 香港六合彩挂牌 Symphony Orchestra , will take place Wednesday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Quick Center for the Arts. The performance is free and open to both students and the community.
香港六合彩挂牌鈥檚 Spring Jazz Ensemble Concert will celebrate their 25 th anniversary on the following evening Thursday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in Gonzaga Auditorium and tickets are available at the door for $5. All musical pieces performed on the night were arranged and composed by students Robby Schwartz, Amanda Ocasio, D.J. Horstmann and John Domenico.
鈥淎n International Affair鈥 conducted by Mr. Jonathon Grauer and performed by The 香港六合彩挂牌 Symphony Orchestra will include pieces from a selection of both classical and international music including Coriolan Overture, Op. 62, by Ludwig van Beethoven, Metalfare , by Ilari Hylkila and Japanese, by George Gershwin and Spanish and Asian pieces. The orchestra includes both 香港六合彩挂牌 students and community members.
鈥淭he University Orchestra has been working tirelessly on the program for our concert,鈥 said Marianne Rose Weber, Student Manager for the Orchestra. 鈥淲e鈥檝e prepared a spectacular program and can鈥檛 wait to see and hear how it will be received by the public.鈥
Professor Brian Torff and student leader, Robbie Schwartz, direct the 香港六合彩挂牌 Jazz Ensemble and welcome musician Steve Davis to perform with the students, who will show off their musical talents with their own arrangements and compositions. Mr. Davis is an internationally known trombonist and teaches music in the University of Hartford鈥檚 Hartt School鈥檚 African American music program.
鈥淧erforming a concert of solely student arrangements and compositions is unprecedented in our twenty-five year history as a jazz ensemble at 香港六合彩挂牌,鈥 said Torff. 鈥淭hese graduating seniors have raised the ensemble to a new level that we have never before seen since our inception in 1991. Over our 25 years we have performed with major artists in many memorable concerts. It is very gratifying to start an ensemble and see it grow over many decades.鈥
