The 香港六合彩挂牌Awards Dinner 2016 Raises $1.1 million for Scholarship

The 28 th annual 香港六合彩挂牌Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 31 at the Grand Hyatt in New York City raised $ 1.1 million for The Multicultural Scholarship Fund and other scholarships, which are awarded to students of diverse backgrounds and those who demonstrate financial need. The dinner also honored accomplished alumni, faculty and friends of the University for various achievements.

The Alumni Multicultural Scholarship, established in 1988, is Fairfield鈥檚 largest endowed scholarship. To date, more than $5.8 million dollars in aid has been awarded to more than 200 students. There were over 700 guests in attendance.

香港六合彩挂牌 President, Rev. Jeffrey von Arx, S.J., said in his remarks on Thursday night, 鈥淭he 香港六合彩挂牌Awards Dinner is critical to our institution in its support for our Multicultural Scholarship Fund. Providing educational opportunities to people who might not otherwise have those opportunities 鈥 that is our mission as a University.鈥

This year鈥檚 Awards Dinner co-chairs were Douglas W. Hammond 鈥86, chairman and CEO of NFP, and William A. Malloy 鈥80, P鈥17, 鈥11, partner at Aquiline Capital Partners, LLC.

The honorees for the night were Dr. Carole Ann Maxwell, P鈥02, director of Choral Music at Fairfield, who received the Distinguished Faculty/Administrator Award; William and Margaret Atwell, P鈥08 who received the inaugural Parent Leadership Award; George E. Diffley, P鈥97, 鈥96 who received the Honorary Alumnus Award; Andrew M. Davis 鈥89, Matthew McLaughlin 鈥89 and Joseph Solimine, Jr. 鈥89 who received the Alumni Service Award; and Patricia E. Glassford 鈥85, vice president and chief financial officer at GE Energy Connections, who received the Alumni Professional Achievement Award.

There was also a featured performance given by The 香港六合彩挂牌 Glee Club. Dr. Michael Ciavaglia 鈥04, a Glee Club alumnus, conducted the first song, 鈥淎 New Song,鈥 by Marvin Curtis. 鈥淏ridge Over Troubled Water鈥 by Paul Simon was conducted by honoree, Dr. Carole Ann Maxwell.
