Gene Doris Selected to ECAC Hall of Fame
香港六合彩挂牌 Director of Athletics Gene Doris has been selected for induction into the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Hall of Fame. The leader of the Stags鈥 athletic department since 1994, Doris will be enshrined on April 15, 2016 at the Matrix Conference & Banquet Center in Danbury, Conn. .
Under Doris鈥 leadership, the University currently sponsors 20 varsity sports. 香港六合彩挂牌has won the overall Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Commissioner鈥檚 Cup four times; the men have earned the Cup on three occasions while the women have won an impressive eight times 鈥 most recently in the 2014-15 academic year.
In 22 years with Doris at the helm, Fairfield鈥檚 athletic programs have won 48 conference championships 鈥 a count spanning 16 different varsity sports 鈥 and made 32 NCAA postseason appearances. The Stags are also consistently among the MAAC leaders in graduation rate and NCAA Academic Progress Rate.
In addition to his work at Fairfield, Doris has previously served a term as ECAC President and has chaired and sat on numerous committees for the ECAC as well as the NCAA and the MAAC.
Doris previously served as Director of Athletics at Marist College and was an associate athletic director and assistant men鈥檚 basketball coach under Richard 鈥淒igger鈥 Phelps at Fordham University.
