The Sleeping Beauty with the Moscow Festival Ballet, April 2

The renowned Moscow Festival Ballet will perform The Sleeping Beauty at the Quick Center for the Arts at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 8 p.m.

The Sleeping Beauty , a crowning jewel of famed ballet dancer, teacher and choreographer, Marius Petipa, is often considered the ballet’s finest achievement. Tchaikovsky’s three-act classic is a captivating fantasy story filled with magic and splendor. Inspired by the well-known fairy tale by Charles Perrault, an evil fairy condemns a baby princess to prick her finger and die on her sixteenth birthday. But the Lilac Fairy saves the child by declaring the injury will merely put the princess to sleep until awakened by a prince’s kiss. The Sleeping Beauty — replete with a king and a queen, fairies, a beautiful princess, an enchanting prince and magical stage effects — is a magical night of ballet for all ages to enjoy.

The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in 1989 by legendary principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, Sergei Radchenko. Since its inception, the group has toured internationally, gaining worldwide recognition for their unforgettable performances including Cinderella , Romeo and Juliet and Don Quixote.

Tickets are $50, $45, $35 and $5 for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ students. For tickets, visit or call the box office at 203-254-4010 or toll free at 1-877-ARTS-396. The performance is sponsored by The Westport Inn and Moffly Media.
