Constructing Your Own Elementary Classroom Writing Curriculum Workshop, March 22

Join local educators for a complimentary professional development workshop, sponsored by the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions (GSEAP).

On Thursday, March 22, 2018, the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions (GSEAP) will host a complimentary professional development workshop entitled, "Writing Models Everywhere — Constructing Your Own Elementary Classroom Writing Curriculum.”

During the workshop, Assistant Professor of Childhood Education Ryan Colwell, PhD, will explore how children’s literature, teacher-writing, and student-writing can serve as powerful models to help elementary students write across multiple genres. Dr. Colwell will teach different strategies for using students’ writing as instructional models, and participants will gain ideas for integrating published mentor texts into their curriculum.
