In conjunction with the IRS, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is offered annually through the University, and is available to individuals with a household income of up to $60,000.

Now through April 12, the Dolan School will host a free tax return preparation service program. The service is offered as part of an IRS program staffed by volunteers who have completed both a technical and professional conduct certification under IRS supervision. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) includes services such as electronic filing for federal and state returns, direct deposit refunds, and retired or self-employed income tax return preparation. Volunteers can also advise individuals on benefits screening, financial education, and how to turn refunds into long-term financial security. The VITA Program is an IRS-approved program, available to anyone with a household income of up to $60,000.

Services are provided by appointment only on a first-come, first-served basis on Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m. To schedule an appointment please contact Operations Assistant Hope Crotty at hcrotty1@fairfield.edu or call (203)-254-4000, ext. 3059.
