Restaurant Week, Downtown Bookstore, and Basketball Bring Fall Fun to Fairfield

From October 21 – 27, more than 30 restaurants in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆwill offer special lunch and dinner prix fixe menus, or other special promotions.

From enjoying top-notch meals at some of the best restaurants Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆhas to offer, to meeting a New York Times bestselling author, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆis teeming with tons of fall events.

The leaves in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆare falling as quickly as the days are passing, but that doesn’t mean there is any shortage of fall fun coming up in the latter half of the season. From enjoying top-notch meals at some of the best restaurants Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆhas to offer, to meeting a New York Times bestselling author, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆis teeming with tons of fall events.
 
From October 21 to 27, Fairfield’s food scene will come alive with eager diners and scents of delectable food, all thanks to . More than 30 participating restaurants will offer multi-course, prix fixe menus for lunch ($10-$20) or dinner ($20-$35), or offer guests a special discount throughout the week. With restaurants like Brick Walk Tavern, Little Pub, Bodega Taco Bar, and more all offering special options for the week, the only difficult part about the week will be deciding where to eat.
 
If enjoying Restaurant Week doesn’t fill up Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆfoodies, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆMuseum & History Center, in conjunction with Experience Fairfield, is presenting the exhibition, “” through January 5, 2020. With a focus on how food shapes cultural traditions, local landscapes, and global economies, this newly-launched exhibition will explore how local foods are important to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆtraditions and how they’ve shaped our regional identity over time.
 
Fall in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆis also about a different kind of food — candy! That’s because the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆMuseum & History Center is also hosting on Sunday, October 27 in their Museum Commons at 370 Beach Road. From noon to 4 p.m., the area will abound with trick-or-treating, live performances, bounce houses, hayrides, and a costume parade. Also in attendance will be a variety of food trucks, including Cousins Maine Lobster, Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes, Super Duper Weenie, and more.
 
While October is quickly coming to a close, November poses another round of exciting area attractions to continue the fun all season long.
 
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ’s own Downtown Bookstore — in partnership with Pequot Library — will host author Sonia Purnell on Sunday, November 3. From 4 to 5:30 p.m., Purnell will sign and read from her New York Times Bestseller, A Woman of No Importance, which tells the tale of one of the true unsung heroines of World War II, Virginia Hall. Just two days later on November 5, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ’s men’s and women’s basketball teams tip off their seasons, with the men opening their season at Webster Bank Arena in a showdown again Bucknell University.
