Join the DiMenna-Nyselius Library's Winter Reading Challenge

Open book on desk

Students, faculty, and staff are invited and encouraged to participate in this virtual challenge to motivate readers this winter.

Following the success of the Summer Reading Challenge, the DiMenna-Nyselius Library is hosting a Winter Reading Challenge. The purpose of the Challenge is for readers to find motivation to read, to try reading new genres, and to select books from a wide range of voices and perspectives.

How does it work?

Readers may select books from fourteen optional reading categories. Each reader will have their own Quip document made for them to log their book(s). Readers will also be able to browse other readers’ Quip documents for inspiration and to comment or ask a question.

How do I sign-up?

Email Lisa Thornell, Student Engagement & Outreach Librarian, to say you are interested so that your challenge page can be set up for you on Quip. You can sign-up anytime while the challenge is running from December 8 through February 28.

What do I get for taking on the Challenge?

For every book you log by February 28 you will get one entry into a raffle for a chance to win prizes. To participate you do not need to read books in all 14 categories, however if you do you automatically get a prize and are entered into a larger raffle drawing.

How do I find books to read for each of the categories?

See the Library’s  for links to other reading lists. In addition to borrowing books through the Library’s new home delivery service, readers may check out a book at their local public library.

The Winter Reading Challenge is sponsored by the DiMenna-Nyselius Library, Health & Wellness committee, Marketing & Communications, and the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ Bookstore.
