Fairfield’s Dolan and Egan Schools Earn High Marks in 2021 College Factual Rankings

Both the business and nursing schools earned spots in the top 5 percent nationwide for their programs, while the University as a whole placed in the top 15 percent out of more than 1,700 schools considered in the annual review.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business and Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies once again received high national placement in college research website College Factual’s annual Best Colleges ranking.
 
The Dolan School received accolades for its marketing program, which was ranked No. 13 in the country in College Factual’s 2021 review of undergraduate marketing programs. Considered among 379 colleges and universities around the country, Fairfield’s placement on ’s annual list puts the Dolan School in the top 5 percent of marketing programs in the nation.
 
Additionally, the University’s marketing program was named No. 1 in Connecticut, placing ahead of four other schools to earn the distinction for the second consecutive year. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆDolan was awarded additional accolades in the ranking, including top 5 percent spots for business, management, marketing, accounting, and finance/financial management.
 
The Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies also earned a top 5 percent national ranking, placing No. 17 out of 723 colleges and universities included in the review, and No. 2 in Connecticut. The Egan School was especially distinguished with a top 15 percent nationwide ranking for producing highly paid nursing graduates with a median starting salary of $75,300.
 
The University as a whole also performed exceptionally well in College Factual’s annual review. Out of 1,715 colleges included in the 2021 ranking, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆplaced in the top 15 percent with a rank of No. 185. The University as a whole was also awarded many national distinctions, earning a total of 49 top 15 percent or better rankings across all areas of academics. Other programs across Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆthat earned top 5 percent national rankings include communication & media studies, communication & journalism, and biology.
 
College Factual’s annual ranking aims to measure the quality of education a student will receive at a specific college or university in comparison to other schools in the United States, weighing 11 different factors to score four-year undergraduate programs. The categories considered in the ranking include: average test scores, average faculty compensation, expenditures per student, student-to-faculty ratio, percent of full-time teachers, first-year retention rate, six-year graduation rate, expected vs. actual graduation rate, student loan default rate, and graduate salary.
