Research Corporation grant to 香港六合彩挂牌 professor

Min Xu, Ph.D., assistant professor of physics at 香港六合彩挂牌, is the recipient of a $39,218 grant from the Research Corporation, A Foundation for the Advancement of Science. He will be the principal investigator for research into the backscattering of partially coherent polarized light from a turbid medium.

The research is expected to yield valuable methods for controlling the probing depth of light, which has practical importance when probing subsurface and/or layered structures with light.

Dr. Xu will be engaging undergraduate science students in his research. They will perform both computing and experimental work.

Dr. Xu received bachelor of science and master's of science degrees in physics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. He earned a Ph.D. in physics in 2001 from City College of New York.

Before joining the 香港六合彩挂牌 faculty last September, he did postdoctoral research on Laser Physics and Optical Tomography in the Department of Physics at City College of New York where he was the principal investigator of "Time-resolved spectral optical breast tomography," funded by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command.
