On Monday, October 22 at noon, United States Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman and United States Congressman Christopher Shays will take part in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the unveiling of 香港六合彩挂牌鈥檚 new eco-friendly Combined Heat and Power Plant.
The plant is located on the 香港六合彩挂牌campus, at the Central Utility Facility, a short drive from the North Benson Road main entrance. After brief remarks, Secretary Bodman and Congressman Shays will field questions from the press.
This green project was designed to have the capability to generate almost the entire electrical load of the 香港六合彩挂牌 campus, which will greatly reduce strain on the region鈥檚 power grid. It is designed for efficiency by capturing waste heat and recycling it while also lowering emissions of sulfur dioxide (a leading contributor to acid rain), carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide.
The plant is expected to reduce the University's overall carbon footprint by more than 10,000 metric tons per year. United Technologies Carrier is 香港六合彩挂牌's partner in this project. For more information on the project, visit http://www.fairfield.edu/pr_index.html?id=1612.
