How to Apply
Application deadlines and requirements vary by program.
Students seeking admission must complete the following and submit:
- A completed application ().
- A non-refundable $65 application fee.
- A professional resume. Applicants are required to submit a current resume that includes employment and education history.
- A personal statement (prompt varies by program) of self-evaluation of work experience and career objectives.
- Official transcripts from all universities or colleges attended. (All international transcripts must be evaluated by an approved evaluating service).
- Recommendation forms and letters from professional references. The recommendations are completed online. At the time of application, you will need to provide your two recommenders' names and email addresses. Recommendation requirements and amount vary by program.
- Interviews: If required, candidates will be notified after application completion.
- Official test scores: Scores may be required on a program-specific basis.

*The Charles F. Dolan School of Business generally seeks graduate students who meet the following criteria: an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00 accompanied by a GMAT score of at least 500.
*The GMAT is not required for admissions for the Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Financial Technology, Master of Science in Management, or Master of Science in Marketing Analytics and Strategy programs.
GMAT Waiver Policy
GMAT/GRE waiver requests are considered on a case-by-case basis for graduate programs which require an entrance exam. GMAT/GRE waivers must be approved by Senior Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs, Leanne De Los Santos at ldelossantos@fairfield.edu.
Master of Business Administration (MBA):
The GMAT/GRE exam is generally required for applicants to the MBA program. This requirement may be waived for MBA applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Two or more years of work experience and an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Candidates who already possess a master’s degree (or higher)
- Five or more years of work experience in a relevant field and an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Graduates and current seniors of undergraduate business majors in the Dolan School of Business provided their overall Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆGPA is at least 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale)
Master of Science in Accounting (MSA)
- GMAT not required. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆstudents with an Overall GPA of 3.25 or higher do not require an interview; if GPA is under 3.25, an interview is required. Non-Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆcandidates should have an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher and an interview is required.
Master of Business Analytics (MSBA):
- The GMAT/GRE may be waived for applicants whose overall undergraduate GPA was at least a 3.0, who have two or more years of work experience, or who have passed all parts of the Uniform CPA exam or a jurisdictional Bar examination or another similarly advanced professional certification or a previous graduate degree.
Master of Science in Finance (MSF):
The GMAT/GRE exam is generally required for applicants to the MSF program. This requirement may be waived for MSF applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Graduates and current seniors of undergraduate business majors in the Dolan School of Business provided their overall Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆGPA is at least 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Graduates and current seniors of undergraduate business majors of AACSB accredited business schools provided their overall GPA is at least a 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Passed Level 1 of the CFA or FRM
- Professional certifications related to business (e.g. CPA, CIMA, CAIA, etc.)
- J.D., M.D., Ph.D., or a graduate degree in a related field
- Two or more years of significant or relevant work experience in business or a related field
International Students
Scores are required from international students whose native Language is not English. For the TOEFL, a minimum of score of 80 (internet-based), 213 (computer-based), or a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) is recommended. For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.5 is required. For DUOLINGO, a minimum score of 105 is required. Fairfield's code is 3390.
