Stags Win MAAC Championship to Advance to Second Consecutive NCAA Tournament

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆchallenged #7 Wisconsin in Madison on the national stage.

With a 3-1 win over Quinnipiac on Nov. 24, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ Volleyball won its second straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. The Stags advanced to the NCAA postseason, where they traveled to Madison, Wis. to meet the #7 nationally-ranked University of Wisconsin Badgers.

In addition to their second consecutive MAAC Championship, the conference crown was the 14th in program history. The Stags also won the MAAC Regular Season Title for the 23rd time in the last 29 campaigns. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆhas won both the MAAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships in each of Head Coach Nancy Somera’s two seasons at the helm.

Mamie Krubally ’27 was named MAAC Championship MVP after tallying 26 kills on .479 hitting in Fairfield’s playoff wins over Canisius and Quinnipiac. She was joined on the All-Championship Team by Blakely Montgomery ’25 and Maya Walker ’26.

In the NCAA Championship First Round, the Stags fell to Wisconsin, 3-0, to complete their championship season with a record of 21-12 overall bolstered by a 17-1 record in their run through the MAAC.
