Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆmen’s and women’s basketball teams both own month-long winning streaks.
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆ turned the calendar to 2024 as home to two of the hottest basketball programs in the nation. The men’s basketball team is currently riding a six-game winning streak, while the women’s team has been victorious in nine consecutive games.
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆand Auburn University are the only two Division I institutions in the nation with active winning streaks of at least six games for both their men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Led by Interim Head Coach Chris Casey, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆMen’s Basketball has surged into the new year with a 7-6 record. The Stags return to MAAC play this Friday, Jan. 5 at Siena and are back on the court at Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Sunday, Jan. 7 to host Marist at 2 p.m.
Most recently defeating MAAC preseason favorite Niagara on Thursday afternoon, 77-54, Head Coach Carly Thibault DuDonis and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÒÅÆWomen’s Basketball are off to an 11-1 start to the campaign. The Stags bring their nine-game winning streak to Canisius on Saturday and are back on campus at Mahoney Arena for conference clashes with Iona (Jan. 11) and Siena (Jan. 13) next weekend.
